The active ingredient is deltamethrin a member of the pyrethroid family of insecticides. Bed bugs have been noted to be resistant to it. When we applied it to my in-laws apartment we liberally applied it only to have the bugs survive. We bought it in a kit from home depot. Harris also offers a non pyrethroid version. My husband and I had the same cheap knife set for years, we bought this one recently and LOVE IT! The knives are sharp, aesthetically pleasing and sturdy. We would most definitely recommend, you can't beat these for the price. I would actually gladly have paid more, they are a bargain.
