do not let the price fool you. this item is wonderful!! however, it does take a few minutes to get used too. at first i thought i was not going to like it, i was VERY WRONG. all you have to do is adjust yourself to work different areas. working your arms and side obliques is so easy. i don't believe the calorie counter, but the timer is accurate. it may not feel like exercise but it does the job!!!
Purchased this trampoline for my 8 year old and 13 year old. Just assembled it yesterday so can't speak to longevity but it seems like good quality. So far I am very happy with the purchase. I would have given this 5 stars except for the horrible assembly instructions. After reading several reviews where people had to take the thing apart because the door wasn't lined up properly, I was going to make sure I didn't make the same mistake. I attached the safey net to the mat (ours was not pre-attached as some described), making sure that the door lined up with the ring that had the strap attached. Here is where the mistake happens and the INSTRUCTIONS ARE WRONG! Before you start attaching the springs, make sure that the door is lined up over a support post that DOES NOT have a spot to place the support for the safety netting. The assembly instructions show the door centered over the left side of the "U" shaped support posts. Only problem is that support post was the one where the pole for safety net needs to be inserted and that means the holes at top of the net will not be aligned. The supports for the safety net need to be inserted into holes at the top of the net and need to align with the holes on the trampoline frame. If you get that part wrong, then you'll be removing all 50 ties for the outer cover and all 96 springs and redoing them once you get the door aligned properly. Apparently some of the instructions show the door lined up in the middle of the "U" shaped support posts. Mine showed it clearly on the left. Just make sure the safety net is lined up properly before you start attaching springs. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration.
It definitely has a bit of a 'medicine plant' smell, but it's not bad. After a few minutes I barely notice it.
